A Massachusetts company has been awarded a contract worth nearly half-a-billion dollars to expand the Foxwoods Casino in Connecticut.

Framingham-based Perini Building Company will lead the 462 (m) million dollar construction of a two (m) million square foot expansion of the casino resort in southeastern Connecticut.

Perini says the project will include a 26-story hotel tower with 825 rooms, a four-thousand seat theater and a new 50-thousand square foot casino.

Foxwoods is already the largest casino in the world with 340-thousand square feet of gaming space. Work on the project is expected to begin next month and be completed by the summer of 2008.
