Last night concluded the first 3 days of "Day 1" action... three heats that whittled the nearly 6,000 the players down to a maneagable 1900. All survivors from the three heats will join each other today in the Amazon room at the Rio for the run to the money. Many notable poker legends have been eliminated (Hellmuth, both Brunsons, Cloutier, Laak, Esfandiari etc) but many more remain - including VT's friend and Omaha Hi-Lo bracelet winner Pat Poels (go Pat go!). The top 10 chip counts at the start of todays action are:

1. Haakon Waerstad - $169,200
2. Sam Farha - $156,600
3. Nguyen Duc - $150,250
4. Lee Watkinson - $145,800
5. Graeme Harrison - $142,700
6. Jeffrey Dziedzic - $136,450
7. Brad Kondracki - $131,825
8. Mike Gambony - $130,000
9. Ed Cardona - $129,475
10. Pete Lawson - $124,825
