More MGM Parking Rules!
We've uncovered a few more fine print details regarding MGM's paid parking program.
The Dates
This is when paid parking will be turned on at various properties:
June 6 - Aria (and Vdara), Bellagio, Monte Carlo, New York-New York
June 7 - Excalibur, Luxor, Circus Circus (valet, self parking is free)
June 8 - MGM Grand, The Mirage
June 13 - Mandalay Bay (and Delano valet)
Pre-existing condition Reservation
If you already have or do make a reservation prior to May 19th, 2016 for a June 6, 2016 (or later) arrival, self-parking will be complimentary. After May 19th, all hotel guests will pay to park.
Lose Your Ticket
If you happen lose your self-parking ticket, you will be charged a $30 lost ticket fee. MGM is claiming that they will try to verify how long you have stayed and charge you accordingly. If they can't/don't, they will charge you $30.
If you are staying for over three days, losing your ticket is the advantage play.

"If you are staying for over three days, losing your ticket is the advantage play."
Parking at Tropicana, Wynn and/or a Caesars property is going to be my advantage play. Still though, this is the kind of advice that keeps me coming back to VegasTripping.
Why not stay at those properties instead? I fear the Trop is going to have its hand forced if a lot of folks will do this. I'm going to book a stay there and tell them in the simplest terms the free parking brought me in. Maybe it will help. I'm not delusional, but I have to do my part. Like refusing to use K-cups and having a reusable coffee mug. It's just what I do.
Re: Lost tickets
Given that they will have a ton of cameras in the garage's and sensors over the cars to track space allotment, I don't think losing a ticket is going to help much. Plus, well, they know how long you were staying in the hotel if you got a room there...
I will be avoiding this by continuing to avoid any MGM property. They nickle and dime customers to death.
Just curious if you have a source on the May 19th date. Someone posted an MGM Resorts Parking FAQ on the Five Hundy FB page that said May 12th was the cutoff. I booked on May 19 due to the info on your site, and if you have it in writing somewhere, I'd like to be able to use that to my advantage when they charge me for parking. Thanks.
Itslikeimsaying - this is official MGM policy, direct from emails we obtained.
Just like when they started with resort fees it's only a matter of time until every Property starts charging to park. The good old days before resort fees an parking fees I'll always have memories of the good times lol.
