Excalibur has proudly announced that they have renovated a chunk of their hotel rooms in the Royal Tower. Check em out:

Hrm. That furniture looks familiar.... holy shit, they've moved in the old furniture from Mandalay Bay! Check it out:

The bed, nightstands, table lamps, floor lamps, couches, chairs, the artwork... even the paint! Wow!

Big thanks to an anonymous caller on the VT tip line and YoEleven for the dime drop.

It's still an improvement for Excalibur though.

There are a lot of small mom and pop beach hotels here in Florida, that you can tell have been renovated with old furniture from Holiday Inns and LaQuintas. The dark "wood" headboards and furniture and whatnot. It works and is cost effective for them, but I think it's funny they recycle furniture at bigger hotels too.

When Bellagio got the overhaul a while back, didn't their old furniture go toward renovating Monte Carlo's rooms?

I really hope they just had extra stock lying around. Because if they literally just moved the old stuff from MB, that's a disgrace.

Give Dominic your addresses, I got some remaindered furniture I wanna send you.

Hahaha I also totally just realized that's my Mandalay Bay room pic. Love you guys!

At least Caesars spends the money for new stuff even for the cheap resorts.

Hopefully they had the mattresses fumigated. I guess the old Excalibur furnishings will be heading down the street to Circus Circus Manor Motor Lodge.

I seem to recall that Circus Circus got the leftovers from Bellagio.

Looks like the bedframe was refurbished with more plugs and stuff.

The wall art over the bed was installed upside-down.
Oh, wait, it doesn't matter, because art.

Well, yeah, but Excalibur room prices.

When I book a room like that, all I ask for is that there be no bed bugs or cockroaches. I'd rather have 2009's Five-Diamond Leftovers than whatever Excalibur had when Mandalay was supplying each resort it's own themed furnishings. Because Luxor still rolling with it's hieroglyphic bedspread from 1994 is proof enough of that.

Yet...if you dig deep enough into their room inventory online, you'll find this:

The table, chairs and hanging light fixture were in my room when I stayed at Excal in nineteen-ninety-fucking-four! Honest...I've got pictures somewhere...I will say it looks like they MAY have reupholstered the chair...maybe...

I knew I had seen that bed and chair before!

Stay at Excalibur last weekend end. Bed was super comfy... I now the the Castle above the Bird...
