Another great podcast! Love you guys!

Someone asked if Vegas was better 40 years ago. Well, with the rose colored glasses of history, I can tell you it was better 35 years ago. That's when I stayed almost exclusively at The Las Vegas Hilton. Service always excellent, and more importantly, everyone made me feel like they sincerely wanted me to be there. Part of it was made possible by Hosts, several of whom have moved around over the years and are still working. One is at Wynn and two others are at Bellagio. They were great.

I don't go to Vegs much any more, but I drove up from Phoenix on Labor Day Weekend Sunday. Had no idea where to stay, so I called the number on my MLife card from a laundromat on Decatur where I was washing my clothes after Phoenix. I have the lowest MLife tier, Sapphire. I told the phone rep I wanted one night at Bellagio. Was it possible, and how much? She said it was tough because of Labor Day, but she could give me a room for $152. I took it and went to Check-in at Bellagio. The rep was outstanding. I told her I did not want a connecting room, and I wanted a King bed. She said it would be difficult because of the holiday weekend but came up with a great room. Then, she commented that I really got a good rate. I thought she was just BS'ing me, but others later said the rate for that day should have been around $300. Who knows, but I was happy with the service and with Bellagio. Having said that, I always rent a car in Vegas, and I want free parking. If MGM properties start charging, I will not stay there. How else can I protest?

Now, if you'll excuse me, it's time for pudding.

Misnomer, you are not alone. The Del Monte snack pak pudding cans were the best. If you look in the refrigerated section around the yogurt, you can find Kozy Shack chocolate pudding and it's pretty darn close. Not the same, but close.

I thought you guys were being very nice to MGM. Expecting to receive a benefit that is clearly listed in the marketing material should not leave you apologizing for feeling entitled. You ARE entitled. Im my opinion, marketing a benefit and then acting as if the customer is inconveniencing the company by asking for said benefit is the pinnacle of assholery.

That gold level upgrade thing chafes my ass. The upgrade I have received was at Bellagio and was one of the corner rooms. Not a fountain view but 2 walls of windows and the bathroom was pretty huge. Not much of an upgrade but the dude really took some effort looking for me and he was a total professional. The service at Bellagio that trip was pretty awesome though.

Checked in at the Mirage in February and the woman helping me claimed no upgrades regardless of my status. Then, the couple right next to us, who had no status, was OFFERED a free upgrade by their agent. Manger came over and claimed that was the last one. I was mad bro. Couple that with the totally worn out mattress and the Mirage can just kiss my ass. I won't be back anytime soon.

I'm giving them one more shot next month at Aria. If that turns to shit I'm probably going back to Venetian or Caesars. It's true that Venetians comps are crap but at the moment, I really can't tell the difference between their crap comps and MGM's failed promises.

And don't even get me started on Pudding Pops...

@HillyBilly Thanks for the tip! I love pudding.
