Lucky Dragon Casino Takes Shape - Part Deux
We last checked in on the Lucky Dragon two days ago, we found that the forthcoming property from former Venetian/Palazzo executive William Weidner and real estate entrepreneur Andrew Fonfa had gained steel pylons and crossbeams outlining the casino building.
Today, two days later, the east side of the casino steel framing has enclosed the second floor and reached the roof! We can also see the two story elevator core on the Sahara Blvd side of the parcel.

Further back on the hotel tower, you can see the exterior slope is being fit with insulation in advance of its glowing crown cladding.

It is amazing what quick work they're making of this project.
Thanks again to long time VT reader dunebug81 for the pic tip!

They have to get as much done as possible before the money runs out. When they take the inevitable break for refinancing, costs go up, up, up!
Read a story on another blog that their chinese financing has dried up and their request for state money has been denied. Are we looking at another stalled construction project? Maybe thats why Resorts World isnt moving forward?
The speed suggests that the money isn't going to dry up but they want to get a major part done by the end of the year. If there are money issues they will come up once the building is done. In the building I work in they called them change orders and any improvements ot the original design couldn't be paid for until the building was open. Whatever cash issues they do have will go away once the place is open and people start spending money.
