The VIMFP Marquee
It is no accident that we dedicated the first episode of the VT podcast to talking about neon signs and marquees. There is neon in our logo, our icons, our navigation, our brand and our blood. Signage is the encapsulation of a properties identity. Wynn's swiping curved marquee is iconic, thought provoking, and gorgeous, just like the exterior architecture and interior design. I'll remember Cold Beer And Dirty Girls forever. Moulin Rouge's marquee lasted 1000x longer than the important blip of a property it belonged to. Aria didn't have a marquee when it opened. The Welcome To Las Vegas sign is synonymous with the city itself. The ghost of the Stardust marquee art has been rising from the footer of VegasTripping for seven years.
A week or two before VIMFP, some folks at The D contacted us asking for graphic design logo assets for VIMFP. I sent them an Adobe Illustrator file containing an alien, a spaceship, the date, time and location text, the "Free Spaceship Parking**" blurb, and the 3D #VIMFP logo.
They took the building blocks and made motion graphics for every digital marquee at The D - above the doors by Longbar and the valet entrance, the ginormous digital marquee arch near Mannekin Pis, the marquee that runs up the side of the escalator to Vue Bar, the marquee outside of the Golden Gate, the giant digital signs on both sides of the DLVEC stage and *gulp* the giant D marquee that towers over Fremont Street.
I posted a video to the VT YouTube channel of some of these marquees in motion:
Seeing VIMFP artwork come to dart-dash-dive life on the marquees instantly dislocated my jawbone. Seeing VIMFP attendees cheering and taking photos of it throughout the weekend turned my insides into pure jelly.
Still jelly.
I can't thank our player partners at The D and Golden Gate for making all of our creative dreams come true at VIMFP this year.

Comments & Discussion:
They really did go all out this year with promoting the event on their digital signs.. The VIMFP has come a long way from simply having a sign on an easel outside of the Indigo Lounge at Bally's.
Loved seeing ths signs and the recognition we were there.
I loved this. Lots of love for Derek Stevens and his team.
Too cool!
