Note To Self: Don't Break Friends' Arm Because He Hit Nut Flush On River
A McMechen man stands charged with felony malicious wounding after he allegedly broke a friend's arm with a club during an argument over a game of poker.
John L. Spaid, 48, of 211 Logan St., on Tuesday remained in the Northern Regional Jail on a $10,000 bond set last week following his arrest. Spaid is set for a preliminary hearing on Monday afternoon before Marshall County Magistrate David Buzzard.
McMechen Police Chief Frank Dunn said Tuesday that the alleged victim in the case, Randy VanDyne, 35, of Glen Dale, had accused Spaid of cheating him out of around $40 during the game.
