Of everything said in this the bit that rang home for me was near the end talking about songs and expecting the thunder of the fountains.

I'm really enjoying listening to this Vegas Tripping Roundtable Podcast. Keep up the great work!

I see the hobbyist as a little of Column A and a little of Column B. They enjoy the touristy things, but at the same time, they will venture off the beaten path to places the locals go to. I doubt that a first time Vegas visitor from Pig's Knuckle, Arkansas will be venturing Downtown to go eat at Carson Kitchen or Eat.

I'm going to throw this out in regards to Yard House. For many of us that have Yard House locations back home, going to one of their locations is Vegas is more about trying the beers they have that you can't get back home. I can't get Firestone Walker here in Atlanta (Except for the Mission Street line of beers they brew for Trader Joe's.), so I try to drink their beers as much as possible when I'm Vegas. I also try to drink local beers as well.

Just listened. Great discussion. Made me think about how moving to Vegas changed my perception of the city. I've been here 10 years and can report that the magic is still there. And working behind the curtain has given me a different kind of appreciation for what makes the town tick.
