Pencil: The Math of The Wynn June Offer
It has been about four years since me and MissMonkay and I have stayed at Wynn and even longer for Encore. Between the club element and The Marilyn we've scattered to greener pastures.
For reasons the universe has yet to reveal, the itch to return to Wynn has returned. Not a raging fever, widespread panic or a recurring rash... just a teeny tiny tickle. Serendipitously, MissMonkay received another email offer from Wynn containing a promo code that will apply a discount a resort room at Encore or Wynn.
After ten+ years of doing the math on casino promos, we've come to learn that promo codes are barely worth the paper they're emailed on without a control group to compare the pricing too. What MissMonkay found with the "June" offer was astounding.

Yes, you read that right. The email promo raised the room rate $2 per night.
Amazing.

Comments & Discussion:
Looks like the weekday rate is $27 per night cheaper (*under* the green arrows). I'm guessing the promotion doesn't apply to weekend stays, hence the $60 increase on Friday night. Maybe book two reservations?
^ If it doesn't apply to weekend stays, why would the promo rate be higher than the standard weekend rate? This is ludicrous marketing.
Look at the rates for each night on the right lower-middle - Wed and Thu night are cheaper, but Friday night is $60 more using the promo than without. Huh?
Or... just read anawas' comment... ^^;;
Right, but these promotional rates include 2 DAILY Breakfast or Lunch buffets, which should be added to your analysis. I would say $2 per night would be a good deal should you be interested in eating at the Wynn buffet every day.
I can eat at a buffet once but that's about it. This is the fuzziest math I have seen at a hotel ever.
I get the feeling the vast majority of those getting this "special offer" do not do the simple comparo Chuck did. That, coupled with many who are buffet hounds, may make this a successful return for Wynn.
