Gansevoort Accidentally Announces Giada's Restaurant

Gansevoort - the deep in construction replacement for renovated Bill's Gamblin Hall and Saloon slash Barbary Coast - accidentally pulled the trigger on the long rumored announcement that Food Network star Giada De Laurentiis would be opening her very first restaurant Giada's in early 2014.

The announcement originally located here has been removed. Fortunately for us, VT supermega internet ferret Mac78130 copied the text.

The details and the image of Giada can still be found if you "View Source" of the landing page... they hid it inside of a noscript tag.

Emmy Award-winning, globally renowned celebrity chef, television personality and New York Times best-selling author, Giada De Laurentiis brings her extensive culinary background to Gansevoort Las Vegas.

De Laurentiis cultivated her staple Italian cuisine in the kitchen of her grandfather's restaurant and later commenced her culinary career at the prestigious Le Cordon Bleu in Paris. Since her debut in 2002, De Laurentiis has become one of the Food Network's most recognizable faces, starring in four primetime TV shows, "Everyday Italian," "Giada's Weekend Getaways," "Giada in Paradise: Capri, Santorini, Monaco and Thailand," and the highly popular series, "Food Network Star." She is also a correspondent on NBC's Today, where she highlights current trends in travel, cuisine and lifestyle. De Laurentiis is also the author of six cookbooks, five that have charted on the New York Times best-seller list. Her culinary empire continues to expand with the opening of her first restaurant at Gansevoort Las Vegas, slated to open in early 2014.

No mention of the fact that both Gansevoort and Di Laurentiis have dual vowels in their names. WTH.

Gordon, Guy, Giada, Gary. Sense a trend here?

I'm sure this place will be successful, however unless she's at the table licking spoons, flashing her cleavage and cooing I don't see how the Giada experience translates from TV. She uses a rolling pin on pizza dough for fuck's sake.

Which, in some respects, is somewhat awesome. I wonder what she uses to whiten her teeth...

Update: Giada made it official an hour ago. Fascinating timing. Thanks @misnoper for the tweet tip.

Comments & Discussion:

I'm waiting for the Iron Chef dinner experience. I'm in agreement, unless she's wearing one of her typical low cut blouses, and leaning over the table to pour water, I'm not sure there is a point to the restaurant. Not to mention, how it fits with the high end position of Gavensnooze.

By the way, nice job Mac.

Count me in, Chuck. I love me some Giada -- on the TV, but I don't think you have to be too cycnical to know she'll never be in the kitchen. I doubt she'll be present past a few grand opening media appearences.

I love me some titties. But alas, I'll never step foot in the place.

I love it when she wears her hair down...some dairy in Las Vegas is about to hit the jackpot, cause she uses cream of some sort in nearly every dish..

They had her in a cocktail waitress outfit for a cameo in the Las Vegas episode of "Tripping Out With Alie & Georgia".

Well, that's a naughty GIF. I'm not complaining, but wow.

I would go there but the weird name of the place it's in is a turn off

Why is Eater being a dick to you Chuck? #Eaterdick

probably the same reason LVA decided to link to the eater site, rather then VT.

I imagine they are permanent _______

hope she teaches her staff to wash their hands, My family tells me she never washes them while filming her show
