Storm Damages Vegas Casinos

An intense summer storm rolled in through Las Vegas, dumping torrents of rain on the city and battering a number of casinos.

The roof collapsed at Treasure Island's Gilley's bar, shortly after 8pm sending visitors scurrying out onto the casino floor.

Meanwhile, VT superpal @FiveHundy tells us that Fremont Casino lost power and was evacuated, possibly caused by a fire caused by a lightning strike.

The Strip is flooded as is the renovated Quad. Thanks to VT reader @jwhall for the tip.

Caesars Palace's casino is completely flooded and Bellagio's lake has spilled over to the strip (thanks @vajohna).

More on this as it progresses... tweet us @vegastripping with any information about damage you find.

Comments & Discussion:

both photo links go to the same place for me, not sure if it's my browser or how it's linked here but photo of Quad parking garage being flooded can be found at:

The Quad parking garage flooding is nothing new seeing as it is built on top of the Flamingo Wash (Caesars Palace is as well). There have been improvements made in recent years to lessen the amount of waters that flow through the garage, but to really take care of the problem would require the demolition of the parking garage and that's not going to happen anytime soon.

Damn, that wa some hell of a storm. Hope everyone is ok

saw this one via LVRJ twitter link, looks like inside of Caesars was flooded near the Colosseum

Looks like the Caesar's flood was from a roof leak-

Even faux buildings were damaged: https://twitter.com/BigHosss/status/358998215137296384
