Hot off the press releases: Bill's Gamblin' Hall and Saloon will reopen as Gansevoort Las Vegas in January 2014. Gansevoort Hotel Group operates a number of hotels including the Hotel Gansevoort in NYC's Meatpacking district.

Gansevoort.

Looks like Victor Drai got assed out.... the good news for him is that Drai's After Hours will be returning.

More on this as it develops.

That certainly slides off the tongue easily........

No shit huh? Worst name ever. $249 a night for those tiny ass rooms. They must be smoking something. I'll stick with Encore where we still get rates from $119-$139.

I think this is great actually... The gansevoort in NYC is awesome.

Wow, that's kind of an awful name. I guess the area of hearing the name and automatically thinking "Vegas!" is over.

There goes Sam Nazarian's boner.

This is shaping up into something like a NY-LA hip hop war, except with soft and doughy hoteliers instead. I give the edge to the NY crew with their fabulous mid-strip location and rooftop club.

Cosmo, Four Seasons and M.O. can get $249 mid week, this place won't stand a chance asking that number. Price point change about 60 days in.

The room sketches look pretty awesome (see them at the USA Today link in the original brief), but not $250 worth of awesome, especially if I can't pronounce the hotel to a Vegas cabbie when I'm drunk and trying to return to said hotel room.

Clearly, they're going VERY high-end with this property, considering the potential a roof pool and party deck has, paired with Drai's continuing in the basement.

I prefer the dingy, degenerate Bills though. Seriously.

Looks like it'll be nice, but there's no way in hell I'll be paying that much for a room there.

Gansevoort hasn't been all that successful outside of NYC have they? the Miami hotel was sold. I've been to the one in Turks and Caicos and it's nothing special. the T&C hotel actually had a bagatelle bistrot at the feature restaurant which went busto i believe

Back in 2009, I threw up off of the roofdeck lounge at the Gans in NYC's Fudgepacking District. I look forward to extending this tradition to their location in Vegas.

"In 2011, Kim Kardashian moved into the Gansevoort Park Avenue with her then-husband Kris Humphries and filmed a reality TV series."

Well then. Sign me up.

I guess that's the end of $5 tables.

Stupid point - if the 10th floor indoor/outdoor nightclub is hopping, how exactly are you supposed to sleep in your expensive room? It's going to be literally shaking

The name sucks and the room rates are beyond even the concept of outrageous. I never had much use of Barbary Coast/Bill's so the change won't effect me. So how many times are people going to screw up the name?

The lakeview rooms at the Bellagio are bad enough as a reflecting echo chamber when the Paris nightclub is in full swing (oontz, oontz) - I shudder to think what'll happen when reroof too club opens...

And what the points for when this place get renamed "The G"?
