Nearly 2 1/2 years since we broke the news that Aria was to get a marquee, this ginormous electronic message board is on the cusp of completion.

ARIA Marquee

We knew it was huge before, but holy crap... it's ginormous.

Here's a rendering of what the whole thing is going to look like, as if you were looking down from the top of Harmon.

ARIA Marquee

Yowza. No word yet on when they're going to turn it on... I'll guess a few weeks before Memorial Day.

Big thanks to VT Reader DavidF for the photo!

Good thing no one is able to stay in the Harmon, they would all be blinded if there were on the south-side of the tower.

I wonder how Murren feels realizing that the resort he thought people would flock in droves to no matter the location now needs such a huge arrow directing visitors to its presence.

Zip line to the lobby??

Literally moved my mouse to find the "like" button for dadice's comment.

Hope they have insurance on the sign for when the Harmon goes boom.

imagine the sweet game of tetris you can play on that thing...

If people can hack those electronic DOT road message boards to warn us about zombies, they probably can hack the Aria sign, too. Anyone want to set an over/under on how long that will take?

Pretty sure that was tried in an episode of "Las Vegas." Mike Cannon and the boys got them. It was a group of MIT geeks trying to play a prank on the Stanford guys.

I can't wait to see the first "blue screen of death" on this thing. That will be impressive.

Took almost as long as the resort did to get built, nice job Mr. Murren.

I'm firmly convinced if they install one more HD LED wall/screen/construct/thingamajig on the Harmon/LVB intersection that nuclear fusion will occur spontaneously on the patio of the Harley Davidson cafe.

mine's bigger than yours

I heard it was going to be twice as tall with condos, but the contractor f*cked up. Oh wait.

Hope they have a hell of a tarp for it come implosion time.

What the hell is taking them so long? And if people haven't figured out where Aria is by now they never will.

I guess MGM wanted to 'out blast" the neighbors, but also the "neon sign" on the Walgreen's across the street.
