Cosmopolitan Chelsea Theatre Glass

On Cosmopolitan's opening day, me Admiral Hillegas, Dr. Dave ditched our parental supervision and headed out on an adventure through the deep dark dregs of Cosmopolitan. Our goal was to locate the Cosmopolitan's mythical theatre.

We had seen the renderings - a gigantic theatre filled with large luxurious seats, three levels of modern balconies wrapping from end to end and a proscenium that looked it as if it were built out of a fantastic array of gigantic Post-It notes - we just didn't know where it was.

We found the tennis courts. We found the boxing ring. We found dead end construction zones, secret entrances and a bevy of back of house employee areas. After a few treasured hours, we gave up and headed back to the surface.

This week, Cosmopolitan CEO John Unwin let the cat out of the bag that Cosmopolitan will finish the theatre and christen it The Chelsea.

Mr. Unwin described the interior thusly...

Imagine a glass factory in Czechoslovakia, and then you drop into that a working theater set

So, something like this?

Can't wait.

We now know that the new Chelsea entrance will be located on P2... up the escalator from Vesper, across the hall from Wicked Spoon.

Thanks to VT super ferret Mac78130 for bringing the rendering back!

Comments & Discussion:

That was a fun day.

The area across from Wicked Spoon is occupied by security offices. The third level is more likely...

cool another reason to go up and look at the giant shoes on P2.

I think it's needed and hopefully they'll put a regular act in there as a headliner, I'm still convinced it helps a property by creating an entertainment association for it. I believe it helps people identify a property, some don't need it, but as a sole operator I believe the Cosmopolitan can benefit.
