Linq Inks Tilted Kilt

Chain pub Tilted Kilt has signed on as retail tenant in Linq.

Tilted Kilt is sort of a Celtic themed sports bar with a little bit of Hooters sex appeal tossed into the mix. They operate 95 franchises throughout the United States and Canada. Their tag line is "A Cold Beer Never Looked So Good."

I've yet to have the pleasure of experiencing Tilted Kilt.... other than looking at the photos of VT superfriend Spyder's wedding on Facebook, so I'm hoping that y'all will help fill in the color commentary.

In my post "Carlos & Charlies" Las Vegas, I can't help but be worried about another schtick restaurant forcing their witty menu descriptions on my jaded, faded mind. Does anybody even remember "The French Connection" ???!?

There is important stuff to discuss... what they offer on tap:

Bud, Bud Light, Blue Moon, Coors Light, Dos Equis, Guinness, Hoegaarden, Miller Lite, Newcastle Brown Ale, Samuel Adams Boston Lager, Samuel Adams Seasonal, Smithwicks, Stella Artois, TK Lager George Killians.

And brown booze:

Gentleman Jack, Jack Daniel's, Dewar's, Glenfiddich, Glenmorangie, Macallan 12, Macallan 15, Crown Royal, Fireball Cinnamon Whisky, Bushmills, Michael Collins, Tullamore Dew, Buffalo Trace, Jim Beam White Label, Jim Beam Devil's Cut, Knob Creek, Maker's Mark, Red Stag by Jim Beam, Southern Comfort, Woodford Reserve, Wild Turkey.

Nothing earth shattering. We shall see.

Comments & Discussion:

We'll see if this lasts longer than the previous attempts in Las Vegas (They had one at Rio and a standalone location in Vegas). There's a similar "breasturant" called Twin Peaks that is opening in the same building at the corner of LVB and Harmon that houses Eli Roth's Goretorium as well as Walgreen's.

Looking at most of the line-up so far for The Linq, it's chain stuff that may or may not do well in Vegas. Now I'm jazzed about Yard House, as that is the place to go for craft beer. The other two locations are not exactly ideally located for the typical Vegas visitor (Town Square [which despite being on LVB is a haul from the Strip] and Red Rock). I think Brooklyn Bowl might do well, as there's not a bowling alley on The Strip and while there was a failed attempted at a bowling alley at Rio a few years back, I think that may have had more to do with the location of Rio more than anything else.

Ever been to Hooters? Then you know what Tilted Kilt is like.
subpar food
cold beer
waitresses dressed like cockteases (and not all have the "build" to pull off the uniform)
lots of goofy shit on the walls

I love goofy shit on walls!! No meal is complete without goofy shit on walls!! The really, really nice places sometimes have a French Horn on the wall, to let you know they're classy!!

Well, this was to be expected. I guess it's slightly less trashy than Hooters?

I would say it's Hooters with a better beer selection

Is it like my high school where all the hot chicks were on the dance team (Tilted Kilt) and the fuglies were stuck being "cheerleaders" (Hooters)? Or, is this just a Varsity Squad Cheerleader group v. the B-Squad - stuck cheering for wrestling and knowledge bowl?

Always so risque in Vegas to almost see nudity but not quite. Wait, isn't that what the pools are for?

little better then Hooters, most comments here spot on. They do also regularly stock Krakken, just as fyi.

An Irish bar with no Jameson? Must be a protestant bar.

Actually I'm pretty sure it's supposed to be more Scottish than Irish. Would explain all the Scottch on the menu.

I LOVE the Tilted Kilt! Their food is actually good and their waitress' outfits are wayyy better than Hooters. Plus they have a pretty good happy hour

In my experience with Tilted Kilt vs. Hooters, the waitstaff is better looking and the food not bad. I only wish some of the ladies would ease up on the tattoos.

My local TK usually has a decent beer of the month that you would normally see at places like Yard House.

I relieved TK of plenty of Jamesons when it was open at the Rio.
