MGM: Hakkasan Construction Update

We've been tracking the MGM Lion construction job for quite a while, eventually finding out that what they were building was a new nightclub/restaurant thingy called Hakkasan. The other day I rolled by and was a bit shocked at how thoroughly they've demolished the facade behind the lion.

And they're hoping to have this thing done by New Years Eve? With Union workers?MGM is shelling out beaucoup bucks for this enhancement... they must be charging Hakkasan a fortune in rent!

Hakkasan? So they went from a Hollywood theme to Hackensack, New Jersey?

It's definitely going to open up the property a bit though, be interesting to see spots in MGM with sunlight.

Wow. The lion looks lonely.

@weatherman exactly what i thought. sad even. they took the power away with the wall.

Apparently they aren't opening NYE http://www.vegaschatter.com/story/2012/8/21/174754/292/vegas-travel/Hakkasan+Quietly+Pushes+Back+Opening+To...

Maybe if they add some small flames to those caldrons it would look a little better.
