Romney

A Fox News staffer leaked a pre-interview video of Republican Presidential candidate Mitt Romney engaged in idle chit chat with host Sean Hannity before taping an episode of "Hannity Vegas Forum." In it, Hannity popped The Vegas Question - where are you staying?

Hannity: "Did you stay here [Wynn Las Vegas] last night? It's a nice hotel..."

Romney: "Actually, no, we're in the Renaissance, it's off The Strip, lower priced."

Hannity: Is it? Ok. Does that all come into scrutiny?

Romney: It's not the scrutiny, it's... you can spend your money on ads or spend your money on hotel rooms. I'd rather spend it on ads.

A cursory check for a booking later this week proves him right. The Renaissance's cheapest offerings are going for $149/nt, with Wynn at $143 + $25 resort fee = $168 a savings of $19 or 8%.

Romney Renaissance

There you have it folks. Romney stays at the Renaissance.

Hat tip to @alexandraberzon.

Comments & Discussion:

As a Mormon he can't gamble so why would he stay at Wynn?

Final nail in the coffin - not voting for him.

@blackjackkid is betting Rick Perry $10k gambling? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FahK1uztoFA

@johnd

Not voting for him because he doesn't stay at the Wynn?

(of course if he was that worried about cost I'm sure Circus, Circus would've been a deal...)

Now let's look up the cost of the presidential suite @ Renaissance vs the cost of a Fairway Villa or Duplex apartment at Wynncore. For some reason, I doubt that he went for adjoining rooms at the Renaissance for he and his secret service detail.

Best... screencap... ever.

"Like" on John D's comment.

Renaissance is a Marriott brand...Marriott is a Morman owned company...

Not just Mormon, owned by Williard's family's best friends. Hell, Williard's named for the founder of the chain.

Yeah, and Jim Murren drives a Jeep.

So i am supposed to believe that a millionaire like Romney is staying at an off-Strip hotel because it's cheaper? Please.

^ Levans, he's known for being incredibly cheap. He's moved himself across country once, actually driving the moving van.
I'm sure they are getting a huge corporate discount from Marriottchi Family.

Obviously ads are not that important though, as I'm sure the IP could have been had for a much cheaper price, or even something closer to the strip, like Terribles or Ellis Island.

He couldn't find a room at Wild Bill's? There is something just off about a cheap millionaire.

I never thought I'd have higher standards in hotels than someone who makes hundreds of times more than I do.

If I recall correctly, last time Obama was in town, he stayed at the extended-stay Element in Summerlin, which is not a particularly inspired choice, either. Seriously, it doesn't even have a bar!
