Fremont Street Gets Rocked
Fremont Street Experience announced their summer concert series lineup yesterday, under the witty banner of "Rock of Vegas." And rock it surely will.... check out this lineup:
Saturday May 26 - Vince Neil
Saturday June 9 - Dennis DeYoung (iconic former singer of Styx)
Friday June 22 - Night Ranger
Saturday July 7 - ASIA featuring John Payne (led by the guy who replaced John Wetton, features none of the original members, they tour as Original ASIA - complicated?)
Saturday July 21 - Warrant & Skid Row (neither of which have their original lead singers)
Saturday August 4 - Bret Michaels
Saturday September 1 - Dee Snider
Saturday October 13 - Chuckmonster (ex-Whitesnake)
Fascinating lineup... equally balanced by singers without their bands and bands without their singers. Night Ranger appears to be the only one that is more or less intact from the early days (minus 8 finger phenom Jeff Watson.) The good news is that they didn't hire Canned Heat, Vanilla Fudge and Country Joe and The Fish (again.)

Odds on Vince Neil getting 86'd from one of the Downtown casinos?
6:5
Well, this is a step-up from the 60s stuff of a few years ago.
+1 on chuck's comment.
In 2010 they had 70s acts and last year it was 80s acts. When I was out there last June with Donnymac, Spyder and the rest of their crew, it was the weekend that ABC was performing and we were all in Vegas to see the New York Dolls, Poison and Motley Crew at Red Rock. I saw ABC several years back (Along with Naked Eyes, Flock Of Seagulls, Belinda Carlisle and the Human League.), and Martin Fry really does put on a good show.
Interesting line up. So we will get 90's acts next year?
With last Summer being 80s stuff, I would have thought this Summer would have been 90s stuff. I know when I was out there last June, we started joking about 90s acts that could play, and bandied about names like Vanilla Ice and Snow......
I was betting that Vince Neil would end up somewhere else in Vegas.
