Speaking of shredding, Kenny Wayne Shepherd... blues rock axe slinger, unpacks his bag of tricks for two nights at the Orleans on March 17th and 18th.

Back in the day, KWS was marketed as a Shrapnel Records(ish) shredder but was more of a devotee to the Hendrix/Stevie Ray Vaughan style of electric blues noodling. The chops are there, the feel is there, but something doesn't connect... perhaps KWS hasn't taken taken enough acid.

He certainly can scare up the ghost of Stevie Ray though, even when playing this Hendrix gem:

And then there is SRV's take:

Frightening. Didn't take more than 30 seconds before this thing hit light speed.

And then, the master.

Still a motherfucker after all these years.

So you know how we got there, but where does it go? With a little luck and a coupla squares of LSD dropped into Kenny Wayne Shepherd's Evian, we might find out.

More info here.
