Aria Winter offer

Yesterday, Aria sent out their winter rates offer.

If you take the offer at image perception value, you'll be able to book a room with a fabulous fireplace where you and your significant other can rub snuggies for only $109/night. Not only that, the offer includes $100 ARIA Resort Credit*, Complimentary City View Upgrade, Upgrade to a Corner Suite for an additional $50 per night.

Before we get out the pencil, lets take a look at the fine print associated to that asterisk.

*The $100 ARIA Resort Credit has no cash value and will only be applied to ARIA charges posted to the guestroom only. ARIA Resort Credit is a one time credit and can not be used towards room rate, resort fee, retail purchases, gaming, taxes, Crystals purchases, or gratuities.

Ok, no hotel back charges, no casino, no high end retail, no taxes/fees or tips. So, basically you can use this on food and bev and in the Aria gift shop only.

Looking at the room rates, the advertised $109 is available only on the Sunday-Wednesday for three weeks between Thanksgiving and Christmas. During other days, the rates jump up to $119 and the occasional $149.

The offer page expands the fine print to include:

Valid for travel on specified bonus dates. Bonus dates are November 20-23, 26-29; December 5-8, 11-15, 21-23; and January 2-5. Minimum two night stay required. A valid credit card must be presented upon check-in. Offer is subject to promotional availability over select dates and may not be combined with any other offer. Rates are subject to change and restricted dates apply. Rates are per room/suite, per night, plus tax based on single or double occupancy. Complimentary city view upgrades are based on availability and are not guaranteed. Corner Suite is an additional $50 per night charge and is subject to availability.

All room rates will also incur a $20/night resort fee plus 12% hotel room tax in addition to the rates quoted below.

Standard Rate Room Tier Discount Rate Diff
$129 Deluxe $109 $20
$159 City View $109 $50
$300 Corner Suite $159 $140

By far, the best deal of these three options is to take the super spacious Corner Suite upgrade for $50, a list price savings of $140 per night PLUS the $100 resort credits. If you aren't maximizing your accommodations, this offer is essentially a give back of your resort fee and a view upgrade (if possible.) Neither of which you should ever pay for.

Comments & Discussion:

Good explanation, Chuck. For folks who can afford it the corner suite offer seems like an incredible deal. A decent in-room meal is one of my favorite ways to start off or end a good day.

The corner suit deal rocks. We stayed in one our past two trips. Best bathroom ever.

I'm booked for a corner suite next week under this deal, even though I have a comped room offer. I've seen weekends where the corner suites are going for as much as $650, and suspect this might be my best chance.

@donnymac you just liked the heated toilet seat, admit it!!!

We are using this offer and discovered even if your trip starts on one of their bonus days that your rate for your entire stay is at the $109 rate. This is an update of their previous winter offer which only included a $50 resort credit. When we called to upgrade to the $100 credit, we were told that we needed to rebook online and then cancel the original reservation. The reservationist couldn't do over the phone because, she said, our stay is too close to CES--we are leaving Vegas as the CES craziness starts. It is a bit of an extra hassle, but for $50 its worth it.

Mandalay Bay is also doing that whole "Resort Credit and cheap room rates on bonus dates only" thing. It sucks because you have to START your stay on one of the bonus days. If your stay falls anywhere on one of those bonus days you can't use it. Lame.

@spyder I did enjoy the heated toilet seat and taint washer.
