Lurker Amnesty Week

We know you're out there... the multiverse of lunatics who digest every morsel of Vegas info, howl when we're funny, groan when we're not and fill the comment box with insights that never get shared.

Here it is. The invitation you've been waiting for.... the First Annual VegasTripping Lurker Amnesty Week, where all new posters are welcomed with open arms and no criticism regardless of the boobery contained in their posts.

On behalf of the VT cast, crew and community, we welcome all lurkers to emerge from the shadows and join the fun here on VT.

Welcome Lurkers!

Comments & Discussion:

Hi, my name is Chuckmonster and I used to be a lurker.

This could be the big chance to get Wayne F Newton to join!

Is it safe to assume that this doesn't apply to those handful of folks that you've had to ban over the years?

Is Sam eligible?

if they've posted before, then they aren't lurkers no?

True, but some may see this amnesty as an open door to come back since they are now considered lurkers.....

I'm not a lurker, but I'm pretty much as close as you get, pretty much all over the Vegas Internet Mafia empire. I sent in the scan of the guy blowing chunks printed on the Casino Royale Envelope in April, called into Five Hundy about O'Shea's urinals in January, and have listened to nearly every Vegas Gang podcast. Vegas Mate would be the primary reason I'd break down and get an iPhone once my contract is up, and I don't think I visit RateVegas.com as often as I should, although when I first started, I spent two nights going back through two years of the Q&A archives.

"Cast aside your fear of sharing your loathings"? OK, so what's the deal with the white line painted on the strip sidewalk? Wasn't it painted a couple years ago to tell the porn slappers where they can stand to avoid private property? During my visit last month, enforcement of that seemed to be nil. I wish they'd enforce that against the costumed characters. It's like a piece of downtown in front of the Bellagio. Ick. (Not that I mind downtown -- I gambled at El Cortez more than anywhere else last time.)

Hilarious. I lurk, therefore I am.

Hello, My name is Smelvis and I am a lurker....

I like Pot Limit Omaha, comp'd spa packages and picking up the dragon hand while playing Pai Gow. I've been known to enter Sapphire while its dark out and depart long after the sun has come up.

Hi Travis! Hi Smelvis!

I like tacos and beer

I used to be a lurker here & elsewhere for years, up until a couple of weeks ago, when (for better or worse depending on your opinion of my opinions) I started adding my comments both here and over at Two way Hard Three...and now you'll probably never get me to stop, so be careful what you wish for! I've yet to put anything on my profile, but I promise to get around to it eventually...

Hello, I was lurker for almost a year. I started posting about a month ago. This is my third or forth post. Luv the site and the humor...usually.

I've definitely been a lurker for a couple of years now. I travel to Vegas about 4-5 times a year and also study the casino industry (primarily the public relations and promotions side of things) for my job as a college professor. This site has always been excellent for clueing me in to what's really happening in Vegas.

I'm also on a mission to stay at every different hotel on the Strip and downtown. No, seriously. I've stayed at about twenty different ones so far. Next month I'm going to bite the bullet and stay at Circus Circus (in the renovated West Tower rooms). Let me know if you guys have any survival tips. (I thought I'd follow the wise advice of Bluto from Animal House: "My advice to you is to start drinking heavily.")

Heyo. I've been a lurker for a couple of years now, not thinking I had anything to really contribute (until my most recent trip when I was staying at a place that hadn't been covered on the site before). But I have to say this is a great, intelligent, frequently hilarious community and I vow to participate more!

since it's lurker amnesty week, does that mean we have to be nice? Wait, we are ALWAYS nice, that's why people like us soooooo much.

Oh thank God.

Well, I suppose this is where I'm supposed to say something...
Been a lurker for about 2 years now, and I guess it's time to talk a little on the boards! Looking forward to future dialogue with you all.

I'm out of the shadows. I've been reading about a year and a half, live in Western NY, and hit Vegas 2-3 times a year, and outlying properties a few more.

Sadly, it even sometimes involves the hell that is AC.

I'm a CET frequenter, and even though I only stayed there once (First trip, I plead ignorance), I'm one of the members who will really miss the cheese and grime factor of the IP in the coming months (Tend to stay at Flamingo or Caesars.) Where else can a $25 single-deck player get treated like royalty?

Thanks for making every trip to LV a little better, and make me still be connected across the country. Can't wait for my trip in early December!

Welcome all lurkers!
