Update: Palms Has A Resort Fee

Along with the whole host of other changes at Palms, VT tipster Tom tells us that the hotel is on the verge of enacting a daily resort fee.

The new fee, purported to be under $15, could be instituted as early as next week and will contain a $20 beverage credit.

I called the Palms to ask them about their resort fee. The operator told me that they charge a $15 daily resort fee at their hotel. Which includes a $20 bar credit, free parking, free local phone calls and "full access to the resort."

When I mentioned to them that there is no mention of a resort fee on their website, they were betwixt.

Comments & Discussion:

If I am not mistaken, the Palms already charges a resort fee - 'The Palms charges a $1 per day phone fee. The hotel charges a fee for in-room internet. Hotel requires a credit card or a cash deposit for incidental charges. There is a $15 per night resort fee that includes the following: A $20 drink credit at casino bars, a savings booklet.' (from vegas.com)

What the hell does "full access to the resort" mean? Can I chill in my pajamas with a martini in the security offices then?

"full access" - next time someone is staying there, feel free to walk into the kitchen of one of the restaurants and grab something out of the fridge. Help Yourself. Or maybe stroll into the cage and take a looksie around. tell 'em Joe & Gavin said it was okay.

Ooooh, free parking. *facepalm* (faceplam?)
Lame, Palms. (Plames?)

These "full access" comments are killing me. As a 'Real Housewives of Beverly Hills' fan, why do I picture Adrienne Maloof herding guests out of the back-of-house once this policy goes into effect? The $20 drink credit is a sly way to get the kids to stay on property instead of limo-ing it to Wynncore, that's for sure.

I remember discussing the resort fee during check-in over a year ago. They had just overhauled their website and all references to the resort fee had disappeared. At the time, it included a free nightclub pass (Rain, Ghost, Moon, Playboy).

does full access mean that as a guest of the hotel i can sleep with any of the womem working at the Playboy Club?
