35 Steaks Plus Martinis Opens At Hard Rock

Hard Rock announced today the opening of a new steakhouse concept 35 Steaks + Martinis which promises "a unique marriage of traditional steakhouse cuisine and libations, complemented with clean, classic yet cutting edge design."

Since the opening of City Center, I'm always concerned when new attractions open, particularly restaurants, that tout their interior design in grander verbiage than their food. You can't eat a chrome plated chandelier, chocolate padded columns, split faced marble, shell sconces, elegant fabrics and patterns, chrome and glass shelving or black and white photography.

You'd think they don't serve food here, but they do. The house specialty is a Tomahawk steak, a 35 oz steak (2lbs 3oz) that has been aged for 35 days. They also are proud to offer Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd branded wines, neither of which I've tried, but if they are anything like the old Grateful Dead Red, I'll pass.

35 Steaks + Martinis is open Sun - Thu 6pm - 10pm, Fri - Sat till midnight. We'll leave the chrome plated chandelier on.

Comments & Discussion:

Maybe they will serve the new AC(lighting bolt)DC wine as well.

There is also a line of wine form Maynard James Keenan from Tool

can we confirm that they will also be serving Dr Steve's wine?
linger longer...

This is different than the last failed steakhouse in that space how exactly?

I think their best bet would be to turn it into a retro 60's motif steakhouse with waiters in white tuxes, pictures of the Rat Pack on the walls, and a piano player. They could call it AJ's.

I am certain that the clientele that HR is looking for isn't people who look there for a good steak.
