Caesars Pours Salt On Snail Mail

Metal room keys, slot machine coin buckets, full pay video poker, two decks or less 3:2 blackjack, the DoDo bird, Steve Wynn's natural good looks... nothing is permanent in Las Vegas.

Effective immediately, you can add "casino mailing" to this list.

VT tipster Mr. K, dropped us a note saying that - according to his host - Caesars Entertainment has officially cut the cord on sending out Las Vegas market offers via the U.S. Postal Service.

I remember my first casino mailer comp... a snail mail offer typed out and sent in a white standard Stardust envelope. I honestly felt like somebody when I got that thing... one complimentary night at the 'dust and a second at half price. I must've carried that thing around like a teddybear way passed its expiration date.

When you care enough to send the very best, you actually put it in a mailbox.

So long casino mailers, you had a great run!

Comments & Discussion:

This change will dramatically cut the amount of mail I receive. I average four mailers from Caesars every week.

Maybe they're just preparingfor the inevitable demise of the U.S. Postal Service.

No more tri-folds with the perforated coupons down the right hand side? Bummer. I really liked those. Now where will I get a 2 for 1 George Wallace coupon?

Very Sad. I get so excited to see a mailer from Wynn, Cosmopolitan and Golden Nugget. Since friends don't send hand written notes anymore, receiving a cardstock-mailer-reminder of the on-goings of your favorite vacation destination can feel like a message from an old friend.

Interesting, I haven't had a mailer from Caesars in about 3 years, and most of my family members haven't either, my guess is it was pairing down of regions until they were comfortable that they weren't going to see any change in business.

I will miss them, even though the only ones I receive are 4 Queens or Wynn anymore, I do still look for them in the mail, then again I check my online accounts daily too to see if anythings new.

The only mailer I ever got was from Aria and I have never stayed there. Everything else has been via email.
