Near distant????
What does that mean...lol.
It would be great if it were true!
I find it difficult to believe that they would re-open the hotel without knowing first the impact that the Plaza re-opening will do to room rates downtown.
Said tweet apparently has been deleted and one referring folks to the Four Queens is in its' place.
If they are going to reopen in the near future, I sure hope they'll renovate the rooms before reopening. I stayed there twice in 2008 and I think the furnishings in my room in the old Mint Tower were probably picked out by Becky Binion sometime after the Binion's bought the Mint.
Based on what I've seen downtown on the last two trips, it does make me believe that if in fact Binions/4Qs owners wanted to re-open the hotel, that it would definitely be getting closer to that point.
