Former MGM CEO Terry Lanni, Dead at 68
A local blogger is reporting that MGM CEO Terry Lanni has lost his 2+ year battle with cancer. Lanni had a very distinguished career in the gaming biz, overseeing MGM during its run of corporate takeovers - Steve Wynn's Mirage Resorts in 2001 and Mandalay Resort Group in 2005 - before handing the reigns of the company and its fledgling CityCenter construction to project mastermind and current CEO Jim Murren.
Lanni retired in 2008 after reports surfaced that his resume had been fluffed with a non-existant MBA from USC, claiming his desire to spend more time with his family.
And thus caps off an epic week of disastrous news for MGM.
