Hash House A Go Go Coming To The Plaza

As was quasi inferred in Steve Friess' tour of the Plaza with CEO Tony Santo, today brings confirmation that Hash House A Go Go will take over the buffet space inside the Plaza.

VegasINC's Amanda Finnegan erroneously reports that this is the fourth location of Hash House A Go Go, omitting two - the one opened at Harrah's Reno earlier this year and the original San Diego location. Other Vegas locations include the original Vegas outpost on Sahara/Rainbow, Imperial Palace and the one that displaced the great Red Cup Cafe at M Resort.

The big loser here will most likely be the Carson Street Cafe at the Golden Nugget and Du-Par's at Golden Gate. Then again, maybe not.... depending on your penchant for gluttony Hash House might be just what you're looking for.

Comments & Discussion:

While the portions at Dupar's can be on the generous side, they're nothing compared to the portions at Hash Hash A Go-Go. I don't think Dupar's has much to worry about, as they've established themselves fairly well Downtown. As for Carson Street Cafe, I've never eaten there, so I really cannot compare it.

One thing to remember is that the Omelet House had a brief run at the Plaza about two years ago and flopped despite being such a popular locals spot. Just because Hash House A Go-Go is opening a branch at the Plaza doesn't automatically mean its' going to be a rousing success.

I wouldn't say the article was erroneous, as it will be the fourth location in Las Vegas.

Ok, now I have a reason to go into the revamped Plaza.

Interesting, this a a bit of a coup for the Plaza as well, it really seems like there maybe two standout downtown properties in the near future. Add in the El Cortez's outstanding remodel and this could be a serious downtown resurgence.

Du'Par's vs Hash House A Go Go.......Du'Par's wins everytime. We ate at the Sahara/Rainbow location and it was great service with basically a huge portion of pretty average food. I also think they might take some business from the 777 brewpub as well

What a great idea. Plaza and Hash House A Go Go are a good pairing. Anything that helps improve downtown, I'm all for.

^^ Ditto! It's great to see downtown get a shot in the arm like this. Looking forward to VT blitz coverage of the Plaza re-opening.
