Harrahs/Caesars to buy the Imperial Palace?

(Analysis from the Las Vegas Casino Death Watch - an awesome site) So, what consequences might there be from this? The main one I can think of off the bat is that how could the combined Harrah's/Caesars not make an offer for the Imperial Palace? It's nesteled right in between Harrah's LV and the Flamingo. Might it also make a good site for the Horseshoe-on-the-Strip? Maybe. If they were to buy up the IP and the Barbary Coast, they'd then have a lock on all property on the east side of the Strip between the Venetian and the Aladdin. While not quite as impressive as MGM/Mirage/Mandalay's run of lots from the Bellagio practically to the Mexican border, it's still a pretty impressive idea.

[ Turning the IP into a Horseshoe on the Strip is mighty fine idea... be sad to see the IP go though - Ed ]
