Father John Shelton, pastor of the Guardian Angel Cathedral, 302 Cathedral Way (immediately adjacent to the Wynn and Encore hotels), will deliver a homily at the 9:00 a.m. Mass this Sunday entitled, Overcoming Satan When He Attempts to Forcibly Acquire Your Church In Order to Build a Convention Center. Father Shelton has given the same homily for 353 consecutive Sundays.

That's pretty good Misnomer. I hope this becomes a regular column.

Comic Sans, Papyrus, and apostrophe abuse FTW!

^^ Plus clip art. Throw an animated gif of a smiley face giving a thumbs-up and it's perfect.

Yep, that logo is just the right amount of wrong.

It's missing something. A clip art rendering of the the shape of the Las Vegas Sign......

Total apostrophe abuse! You don't get a second chance to make a first impression, no matter how gorgeous your avatar is, Misnomer.
For your consideration: a flashing logo on one of the white areas.

OMG, I am SO sharing this link on FB! Often certain locals freak out over tourists' stereotypes of us as casino crazed drunken hookers, but I don't mind the occasional Vegas humor.

OK, so let's move onto corrections:

- There is no "Greater Las Vegas Women's Auxiliary" and probably will never be one, because the Summerlin "ladies who lunch" prefer running their own organizations.

- The Guardian Angel Cathedral is probably too much of a tourist attraction to ever really be at risk of demolition.

- There's a reason why RTC's Silver Star lines often end at GVR and Red Rock. The Sun City denizens usually prefer to hang out in the 'hood, and that's most often the way Strip casinos like it these days.

- And come on, we all know the hookers and hikers wouldn't do it at Red Rock. The park rangers would cause too much of a fuss, and Pahrump (where pay-to-play is totally legal!) is just over the hump. ;-)

I'm not sure how compatible corrections are with satire.

That's the way to start.

I'm an insurance actuary. But it pays well. And affords me to go on three super awesome worldwide vacations a year.
But the job is boring....as hell. Numbers....numbers..and more numbers. Adding machines...suck

The funny thing is, I really do give talks like that in schools. Minus the self-aggrandizement, of course.

And as a veteran of the local lunch circuit, I think you nailed it.
