Riiiing: Cosmo Calling, We've Got Details For You

At about 11:00 a.m. this morning, the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas began contacting its opening night guests with details that finally answer all of the questions most of us have had about how this place is going to open. These come in addition to the rumored details we posted a few weeks ago.

Here's a quick rundown:

3:00 p.m.- Doors will open to hotel guests only. Access to the property will only be available via their Harmon Ave. vehicle entry and will only be granted to hotel guests bearing some sort of magical Wonka-like golden ticket that will be sent via e-mail in the next week.

3:00 - 5:00 p.m.- Guests will have full access to all amenities within the hotel, except for the casino and a number of the marquee restaurants.

5:00 - 8:00 p.m.- Restaurants will be open for general seating and will be offering hotel guests complimentary tastings of various signature dishes and cock-a-tails.

8:00 p.m.- The resort will open to the public, which according to Nevada State Law, means the casino will finally be open. All restaurants will remain open, but odds are, the complimentary tastings will have ended. At this time, if you're looking for any member of the VT team, please see the casino's most prominently placed craps table.

10:00 p.m.- Doors open for the resort's much-ballyhooed Brandon Flowers concent. Now here's the big news: All opening nights guests at the Cosmopolitan have been offered complimentary tickets to the concert. Score.

11:00 p.m.- The Brandon Flowers concert begins.

12:00 a.m. - 3:00 a.m.- We all get plastered and enjoy the last casino opening this town is going to see for a very long time. And those are the details we have for you right now. As we get more information in the next few days, though, we'll be sure to pass it on to you.

Comments & Discussion:

I wish I were going opening day. Sounds so exciting! We expect lots of details and pics so only a limited amount of craps allowed, lol.

The team knows how to live. Have fun!

I'm devastated. I cannot go to this Grand Opening. It's the first one I haven't been to since Mandalay Bay opened. This is me crying inside, good luck at first rollout Chuck! (We still have the camera video of you guys last year at Aria's first roll... well the audio portion anyways, you can't see you and Hunter through the crowd, but we definitely can hear you!)

@ondarox that sucks. i was hoping to see you guys again this year! opening night at ARIA was a great party last year!

No one will be disappointed. The interiors and finishes are creative, imaginative and different. I've been doing some finishing work and it really raises the bar. Some one will eventually say this, so I want to be the first: it's what we wanted from City Center, but didn't get.

...maybe Santa will bring me a G.O. pass in exchange for visual and written tongue-in-cheek reviews. If I had more energy to infiltrate, I'd totally do it, but this years been a b*tch and I fell behind in my plans. (and the battery is drained) Of all times to miss out... WHY NOW?! Persuade me. Please. I beg of you.

I just remembered, we missed Encore G.O as well, it was a delayed opening and we were already air bound. :(

Hey, I'm in Pasadena/Glendale/Burbank area early next week, if I remember right, I think that's a comparable region for you Chuck... may Chris and I drop off our good luck charm? It ain't no monkey paw...

Wish I could be there! Stoopid jobs, and really what's the actual likelyhood of yer day ending at 3am. I'm thinkin more like 10am.....

I took a tour of this place a few weeks ago (during G2E) with the Deutsche Bank gaming analyst. It is an incredibly sexy project...from the nude models projected on the LCD columns in the lobby to the chandelier bar to the rooms themselves. Bravo Cosmo.
