Buffalo Bills Closing For The Good Of All Mankind
Starting today, PrimmTrippers will have one less option to stay and play at while Buffalo Bills will be closing for extensive remodeling for the month of December (should you believe the reporters from the Las Vegas Sun.
Plans for the hotel include renovating the casino, hotel rooms, updating some dining options and installing a Denny's.
The joint will reopen December 23, 2010 with an all star concert featuring Buffalo Springfield conducted by Bill Cosby and a field goal kicking demonstration by Scott Norwood.
Anybody ever stayed in Primm? For shits and giggles I'm tempted to, but I don't think I'd last more than two hours there before getting in the car and driving to M Resort or go hunting for Captain Beefheart out in Barstow.

Comments & Discussion:
I've stayed in Primm, at Buffalo Bills as a matter of fact. It wasn't as bad as you'd think, but the food was awful at just about every outlet.
I absolutely believe them, insomuch as they copied the text from the same press release I got in my email.
The dust blows forward and the dust blows back.
I've stayed five different nights in Primm under MGM management, and it wasn't so bad. Never been there since it became Herbst. I had a prime rib in GP's Steakhouse that was pretty great, and I could tell people that I ate at the best steakhouse in town (just don't tell them which town.)
I installed the new spa at Primm Valley Resort and stayed there for several days last year. I was very impressed with the quality of work done in the spa, not luxury, but high-end. The room however was very dated. My understanding is the bank was planning on doing room renovations there too. Sat at the bar at GP's everynight and the service and food were pretty good.
I played a round of golf at Primm Valley, and was pleasantly surprised. Otherwise, aside from an occasional stop at the outlet mall, it is simply part of the scenery on the way to and from CA.
"I'll have some of the yellow. And don't get cheap on me."
We had breakfast at Primm one time (not long after MGM Mirage left)on our way home back to Socal, and it was awful. It was the worst food I have EVER had... and I've eaten in some shitholes.
Will be curious to see Buffalo Bills.. anything is an improvement.
Primm has two Tom Fazio golf courses (and the rates are obnoxiously cheap). As noted, the spa is pretty damn nice. They need semi-upscale visitors where they guys will golf while the women do the spa and shop and the teens/tweens can ride the rides. BUT... they need to bring the property up to where it is a palatable place to stay for the aforementioned.
If you find the Captain you gotta point me in his direction. I'm ready for a pilgrimage myself. "Ice Cream for Crow" has been the pump-priming, attitude-adjusting, Vegas-in-August soundtrack for my buddies and I every summer for several years now. Never fails to get us stoked and ready for the hot Mojave.

I have made use of their men's room on a couple of occasions and never had a problem.
Isn't Buffalo Bills (BB) a place for kids to go? When Vegas and surrounding casinos were family friendly, BB was ok if you had to bring kids along "for the ride." Never stayed there, but did stay at Primm which had some pretty good slots at one time. Now, too many video slots I am told. Used to go pretty frequently, now Indian casinos in California more convenient. IMO, current management has got to figure out a way to make these stateline casinos a "destination" rather than a truck stop. A minor renovation isn't going to do the trick. Otherwise I'll keep my money in California and go the big city (LV) on special occasions.
