MGM Resorts Gets Into Cyber Monday

A little something different from the folks at MGM Resorts International: Introducing Cyber Monday flight and hotel packages

With food credits bundled in, most the deals pencil out and are even attractive for the casual tourist who doesn't spend his days playing the rate game (read: all of us). But this raises a more serious question: suppose this catches on? What if Vegas hotel reservations all started Cyber Monday deals? Like its Black Friday retail counterpart, Cyber Monday specials have the potential of swaying consumer decisions dramatically.

Will consumers with December plans to hit the city start waiting until Cyber Monday to finalize their bookings? This could dramatically change the number of reservations made in September and October. Inversely, the hotels can start posting "deals" on otherwise inflated summer rates that inevitably decrease as they get closer locking people in at a not-so-awesome cost.

Either way, keep your eyes peeled, be flexible, and always take advantage of generous cancellation policies to score the best deals.

HET (I mean CET) is running a 48 hour promotion as well. Room rates only though, but this is nationwide, which seems a bit unusual for them. Nothing spectacular from what I could see and as always with HET, minimal play and a players card go much further then most promotions.
