TI Pencils Out The Resort Fee

VT reader MinVegas just pointed out to us that the fine feathered folks at Treasure Island have decided to make an argument on their website that the resort fee is a good value.

If it is such a good value, then why do they give an 80% discount on all of these phenomenal services? Because outside of internet access, there is little chance that you'll use any of these services at all, let alone once per each day of your stay.

Scurvy Not Included!

Thanks M!

And look! Included in the room, you get such luxurious amenities as:

"-Ice and vending machines on every floor
-Deadbolt and security latch
-Audio-visual smoke/fire alarm and sprinkler systems"

Boy, TI sure is swanky these days!

But Wait!
First thing I thought of was Ron Popeil's Ronco TV ads. Not $400, not $375, not $350, etc, etc.

Appropriate since Ron Popeil is a Steve Wynn buddy and former Mirage Resorts Board member.

I'm still holding out for the free steak knives.

How embarassing!

I hear it has a nice view of Wynn Las Vegas, though.

so can we use the fitness room to work off the stress of everything we may have lost out on

Isnt having floors in your room covered by the resort fee? I can see why they break it down and I would take advantage of a few of them but not most. I can get my boarding passes at the airport when I check in; I can buy my own paper; having been there to see the Sirens they werent really making sure who was in the VIP area; I can walk the Strip and get my exercise. Why doesnt Phil Ruffin just greet everyone at the door and shake our hands so we can do the $20 dollar trick?

A resort fee allows a hotel to charge slightly more for a room while maintaining a favored position in any computerized sorting of room rates on a travel aggregator's site.

Of course the resort fee also angers all customers way beyond any value the hotel gains from it. MBA types do things like that, the mob never would have!
