In a related follow up to Harrah's hinting they may close the Flamingo:

Lorenzo Creighton, president of the Flamingo Las Vegas, has resigned his post at Caesars Entertainment Inc. to join the top management at MGM Mirage's New York-New York resort across the Strip, according to sources familiar with the move.

MGM Mirage spokeswoman Yvette Monet declined to discuss property management changes. The company has so far only revealed executive management positions in the wake of its $7.9 billion acquisition of Mandalay Resort Group.

Harrah's Entertainment Inc., meanwhile, expects to complete its $9.4 billion acquisition of Caesars Entertainment Inc. by the end of June.

Comments & Discussion:

I read this story because it was linked to a picture of Flamingo r/s toast, and decided to see where the principles ended up.

Lorenzo Creighton moved to MGM Grand Detroit in 2008. Apparently, MGMGD bacame the second most-profitable property in the MGM Resorts portfolio under his watch. He resigned on 8/25/10 to become the CEO of Gateway Casinos based in Vancouver. Gateway operates 9 casinos and 2 non-gaming hotels in BC & Alberta. Seems like the move panned out for 'Zo.

After being purchased by HET, the Flamingo...well...Steakhouse 46 is vastly underrated.

Winner...Alonzo 'Hot to Trot' Creighton!!!
