I've Got Friends In Higher Tax Brackets
Wynn Las Vegas has announced a fresh round of Garth Brooks gigs and at the same time raised ticket prices by about a hundred bucks to $225 + service charge.
I've heard a ton of reports from VT readers who uniformly said that the Garth Show was "worth every penny." Now I that the pennies have been increased by 10,000, is it still worth it? Do tell....
For those who can't afford it, might I suggest a little alternate Brooks-ian entertainment? in the form of the karaoke bar that now occupies the Casbah lounge at Sahara? If you spend enough time there, you're bound to hear at least 4 different renditions of "I've Got Friends In Loooooow Places."

$225?!?!?
Does this officially make Garth the priciest ticket in town? Didn't he once say he'd never charge his fans more than $25 to see him perform? Money changes everything.
He's on a contract so this isn't his decision. The Steve is trying to get as much $$ out of this because he finally hit on a show at the Wynn.
Well this would price me out. I wouldnt heve much interest in paying that much even though it's supposedly a great show
I would think that Garth Brooks did have a say in this decision. I seem to remember that the original moderate ticket price (considering the intimacy of the venue) was an important part of the deal that brought Brooks to WLV.
At only so many seats not only was the show obviously running in the red, but I don't even think it makes that much of an impact on F&B. Garth wasn't even spending the weekends at Wynn. He was jetting off to Tulsa after *every* show so he could cook his kids breakfast every morning.
Not surprised in the least.
who's Garth Brooks?
I still remember when they announced that there were over 300,000 people waiting in the queue for tickets for the last series of tickets. Crazy. And I'm pretty sure my friend paid more for decent Hannah Montana tix for his daughter back in the day.
Admittedly, 253 is what Roger Waters is charging for his top tickets, and U2 as well for the 360 tour....but Garth Brooks aint either of those acts. Not even close.
