Aria Introducing New Wayfinding Signage?
I like Aria's signage. Its blend of natural wood and other materials is creative, intriguing, and one of the rare aspects of the resort that works within the context of whatever it was Jimbo and Bobby wanted to create when it came to Aria. So with that signage love in mind, imagine my surprise when, during my stay at Aria for Podcast-a-Palooza weekend, I stumbled upon this little addition over by Aria's Poque'r Room.

As soon as I saw the thing, a multitude of questions ran through my head. Was a whole new set of signage part of the attempts to make Aria's casino more user friendly? If that's the case, did MGM really think it was that original to copy the same signage style they cooked up for Bellagio and then quickly transferred over to Mirage, Monte Carlo, and parts of MGM Grand? Really?
After tweeting this apparent discovery, my fellow colleague Blackjacker1979 quickly responded that the sign has in fact been hanging over in that lonely little corner for a few months and was most likely placed there in order to satisfy some (ADA?) requirement. That answer makes sense, but one still has to wonder whether or not we might just be seeing a whole new way to wayfind your way around Aria's different walkways in the near future. I guess only time will show us the way...

Peter Frampton joke in there someplace.
Baby, I love your way?
I hope they don't change the signs.
Aria has its own look. I like it. Changing it would annoy me to bits.
Really, all the constant bitching from the Wynnophiles that think every casino should be a well-lit room with bright colors and any angle that's 90 degrees or sharper needs to be "softened" with a drape really, really annoys.
NOT. EVERY. CASINO. NEEDS. TO. LOOK. LIKE. BELLAGIO. OR. WYNNCORE!!!
