Venetian Palazzo Join InterContinental Alliance
Not sure if anyone other than frequent business travelers or AA frequent flyer mile fetishists will give a rats ass about this, but Venetian and Palazzo have joined the InterContinental Alliance Resorts, global points/booking Priority Club that which all Holiday Inn, Crowne Plaza, InterContinental, Staybridge and other hotels belong to.
This is a perfect fit tho as the Venetian / Palazzo cater to conventioneers and have been playing footsie of a partnership with InterContinental Hotels since they took over the Venetian adjacent parcel that was planned to host InterContinental Hotel, Holiday Inn and Cosmopolitan (no relation) hotels. Right now, its all still dirt.
Oh in related news, Cosmopolitan is now available for booking via the Marriott Autograph Collection.
Curious to hear from you do these types of travel partnerships make a difference in how or where you choose to book your Vegas trips?

Comments & Discussion:
For business travelers the point club promotions are huge. In my old expense account days I always stayed at the Hilton, even if it was a bit of an odd location. Now that I know my way around Las Vegas points in a loyalty club are secondary but for Vegas virgins and pure business travelers it is often the number one factor.
Yay! A way to make Palazzo even more boring!
I wouldn't have found Planet Hollywood years ago if they weren't Starwood which I use often when I travel. Now that I've found Kimpton hotels, I'd love them to have a Vegas partner but that's unlikely as they're considered boutique.
Not sure whether this a great fit. Intercontinental is a bit pricey for conventioneers and Holiday Inn is a bit low-brow for the Venetian.
In a perfect world: Priority belongs with Harrah's; Marriott with MGM; Starwoods with Cosmo; Hilton with Venetian; Hyatt with Wynn.
