Jul. 19) -- The City of Las Vegas learned Monday they will get nearly $2-million for the city's 100th birthday celebration. The money will come from Clear Channel who agreed to find sponsors for the year long party. So, where will the money be used?

It's not every day you turn 100 years old, and the city plans to host the party of the century. The celebration kicks-off this New Year's Eve, and will run until the end of the year.

When Las Vegas was considered a small town, the Helldorado Parade was one of those small town traditions that brought the community together, and as the city grew, so did the parade. "Part of the Helldorado tradition had three elements. It had a kiddie parade, an old time parade, and a hotel parade," said Esther Carter, who is†an event planner for the†Centennial Celebration Committee.
