Vdara's Silk Road Restaurant To Close

Silk Road Restaurant

We're hearing rumors that Silk Road Restaurant at Vdara will close this fall. Moving into the space will be the Mr. Chow that had been long promised to serve hungry denizens at the terminally shuttered Harmon.

Between Aria, Bellagio and Cosmopolitan, I don't think any restaurant is going to do very well there except one that slings room service and drunk food.

I really don't think anything at Vdara is going to do well. How is there spa? Does that even stay busy?

Wow, I was just wondering about Mr. Chow, since it was one of the few restaurants when CC was announced that I knew some history on. Talk about a terrible spot though to put it in. I'm guessing it doesn't fare longer then Silk Road, 8-9 months before it moves, they'd have been better off putting it inside Crystals, even though it's deserted too at least there is hope they might drive some traffic. Walking through the Vdara lobby is like being in any big city hotel at about 10am on a Wednesday (when the business travellers have left for the day). EMPTY

The lobby smells nice, for whatever that's worth.

No, nothing at Vdara is doing well... but Vdara is actually doing better than some other parts of CC, if you can believe that.

I think MGM is fudging on Vdara's occupancy numbers. The lobby is always empty; as is Silk Road and the lobby bar. The only foot traffic is people walking between Aria and Bellagio. They need a gimmick/theme for the property.

Brunch at Silk Road will be missed.
