Wynn Lakeside Grill Construction Update

While at Wynn last weekend, I managed to procure a short peekaboo of the construction of Chef Walzog's new Lakeside Grill restaurant in the former Daniel Boulud Brasserie location. Frankly, I was shocked to get in there and didn't want to press my luck by taking photos. Not that it mattered...

In addition to DBB being removed from the in room marketing channel, all property maps and most resort signage, the previous space has been completely demolished. The formerly gorgeous interior has been stripped down to bare concrete including all of the walls, half-wall dividers and the entire salon dining room.

Gone. Goodbye. Or as Bugs Bunny would say... bon voyage'e!

The kitchen area appeared to be under some degree of renovation, but was definitely being protected from the heavy construction going on inside of the main dining room.

The plan for Lakeside Grill, which is being designed by Roger Thomas, is for all tables to have a fantastic vista of the Lake of Dreams. The exterior patio walls are currently still standing, which I can only guess will be removed and replaced with floor to ceiling glass to provide an even better viewport.

There are a three job postings for Lakeside on the Wynn jobs website, all of which feature some new descriptive text about the restaurant:

At Lakeside, Chef David Walzog presents his unique interpretation of American Seafood along the Lake of Dreams.

Lakeside Grill - is scheduled to open in mid-fall 2010. I, for one, can't wait to hear The Steve's velvety description (or is it velveeta-ey?) on the in-room marketing channel.

Comments & Discussion:

I hope the bar has a view of Lake of Dreams. I often ate at the bar and didn't like being in the back of the restaurant with no view of anything.

The DBB bar was a hidden gem even without the view. Can't wait to check it out.

I can't think of a bar in Vegas I liked more than the Daniel Boulud one. Absolutely perfect atmosphere, plus full menu. The Pepsi commercial being shown outside every hour doesn't matter to me.
