Vegas Gang #50 : Now In Hi-Fi Stereo!

Vegas Gang

On the latest edition of the Vegas Gang Podcast, we've finally taken one small step into Hi-Fi Stereo and one giant leap out of that AM radio sounding, phone dropping, distortodiscussion stuff. Yes folks, we're in stereo, and so clear that you can hear our stomachs grumble from three too many mid-afternoon drink stimulants. Amen to the miracle that is Skype and USB audio headphones!

Anyhooz, the discussion this time includes a short interview with Alex Epstein from El Cortez about their Design A Suite Downtown competition, a fascinating discussion about Dr. Dave's Baccarat Study, a pit stop into yesterdays news about Harrah's IPO, before firing up discussion about Hunter's hotel apps guest post and Jeff's Downtown Blues articles and closing it out with another bunch of Vegas Gang "Sure Bets."

Comments & Discussion:

thanks guys for another insighful discussion. in much the way the back issues of vegasgang have helped me survive the last month in the hell fires of work, along with lots of Tim amd Michele listening, todays new episode kept me alert and non-postal during the family drive thru wisconsin in between an episode of chain reaction projectile vomiting, and 1000s of "are we there yet". I caught the show awaiting my sling-worthy signal for coverage of the PGA and I was really enthralled by the downtown opinions. a wide variety of ideas and potential successful paradigms for the area. Good variety of points of view. Personally I end up making a golden gate run maybe one out of ten nights in vegas so lets call it 5 times a year. We always spread money all over and have a blast. Ill be joining my crew at Golden Gate on Saturday night, which seems odd for a group staying at Mandarin Oriental. Good times now no bounds. The baccarat discussion also appealed to my intersts as MikeE and Alexanbo have finally gotten me doing a litte more online along with pai gow. Ill be like a virgin in those high limit rooms this weekend. If anyone is dying a painful death of boredom, our hijinxs will be detailed over at VMB as follows: vegasmessageboard.com/forums/showthread.php?t=57264&page=24

love vegas tripping, the podcasts, and the general depth of vegas coverage and commentary. thanks so much for providing it chuck and others. hope to catch the crew at the paloozza schedule permitting!

I enjoyed the discussion of downtown room rates..one of the issues that wasn't mentioned was the lowering of prices on the Strip this summer to downtown price points..I've gotten emails this summer that have Luxor at $36 midweek, and Excalibur at $24 mid week..when you have pricing levels like that on the South Strip, downtown has its work cut out for it..
