Monte Carlo's Design On A Dime Room Upgrades
With the opening of The Gateway To City Center, Monte Carlo managed to do a slight freshening up to its rooms. And by slight, we mean.... like whoa, a new comforter and lampshades.
To refresh your memory, here's the previous room designs:

And the refreshed... new bedding and lamp shades.

The lounge chair has moved window side, replacing the pair of chairs that were around the table.

The remainder of those chairs has been repurposed as desk chairs. Carpet, drapes, wall coverings, headboard, tables, lamp fixtures, night stands all appear to be the same as previous.
Voila! Design on a dime, Gateway of CityCenter Style!

I thought I saw the Trading Spaces truck outside, the crew inside blowing all but $100 of their thousand on the tables.
So glad those disgusting quilted bacteria habitats are almost fully phased out of every 3+ star joint.
Whoa, don't sell that vase short. Plus the curtains are open. That has to be worth at least, what, like $30 a night?
+1 for the phallic pillow.
is the round pillow for your feet because i cant see a practical reason to sleep on it. other than that the rooms do look better but i wouldnt stay there
Ahhh Mr Monster...you missed the one most important design point in the redesign. The view of CITY CENTER!!!!!!1!!!!!11!!
Round pillows send a subliminal message of the semi-kinky propped-up sex you're sure to enjoy. Or is that just me?
Apropos the earlier Wynn room theft thread, I don't suppose Monte Carlo added a standard room safe in this upgrade? I seem to recall that they didn't have safes in their rooms, at least their standard rooms, and that is one of my prerequisites for a Vegas hotel.
Hmm, while I definitely don't think it's anything to tout on MGM's side, I can't say though that I don't find it a bit refreshing that they seem to be working with at least a small budget for the resort. Adding two new lounges on the floor (ignite and minus5) along with a design on a dime room update isn't the worse thing that could happen. Again, it's not what's completely needed, but I'll give them some credit for trying to keep things fresh compared to say any Harrahs resort. Safes would be a nice addition though to the rooms as Drake pointed out, I'll be staying there in November and will advise if they've added them.
