New Southwest Package Deal to Any Harrah's Resort

If you are lucky enough to live in a market serviced by Southwest Airlines and are planning to make a trip to town this fall - perhaps for the Vegas Podcast-a-Palooza - it is worth noting that the airline has once again partnered with Harrah's Entertainment for some nice airfare/hotel package deal discounts.

What we've learned from penciling out the details of Southwest deals is that they are usually damn good discounts as long as you do a teeny weeny bit of hotel room rate comparison shopping.

Before we get into the pencil, here's the deal, verbatim.

Book a flight + hotel at any Harrah's Resort and save $75! Plus, get 1 FREE night! Use promo code: HETF4ALL75. Book 7/16 - 7/29.

For shirts and giggles, we've plugged in theoretical Podcast-A-Palooza trip from October 28th, 2010 to November 1, 2010 originating from Chicago Midway airport.

The results:

All room rates are pretty competitive here... Flaming-O is the lowest which is a complete score if you can nab a GO Room. Additionally, all resorts are offering either "One Night Free" or "Save 25% plus Coupon Book" PLUS free attractions, 2 for 1 dining, 2 for 1 shows and a bunch of other great add ons.

If you need airfare, this is a pretty sweet deal for Harrah's properties, but you can't really sit around and wait... the promo ends on July 29th.

Comments & Discussion:

I've used these Southwest vacation packages several times and they generally are a good deal. I don't know what the typical airfare is from Midway, but these prices seem high to me. The cited price already includes the discounts. The GO room is an upgrade and will cost more. These deals come with paper tickets, which can be a pain.

Keep in mind that this is four nights and halloween can sorta be construed as a holiday weekend.

My bad, I didn't realize these prices were for 2 people. (Harrah's is $563 for 1 person). Southwest also allows 2 free bags (4 nights is about max for carry-on).

Wynn often has buy 2 get 1 free night deals with Southwest, so these packages are the cheapest way for me to stay there.

Ran that same search the other day and also saw they had Venetian for 1100 something... not bad. I am staying at Encore with one of these Southwest packages in a month, still cant believe the deal I got.

Not to hijack but parchedearth did the "free upgrade at check in if available" get you a panoramic room without issue when you booked through the Southwest package? I think we booked under the same promo.

These deals aren't good enough to get me to drive over two hours (and past my local airport) to drive to the nearest Southwest city (Birmingham). It's cheaper for me to drive the 10-15 minutes to my local airport.

What's surprising is I just did a dummy booking for the Flamingo out of Birmingham (9/30-10/4), and the cheapest Southwest Vacations package using this offer is over $60 higher than booking a similar package on Delta via Orbitz. Plus the Delta flight out there is a one-stop flight whereas the Southwest flight has two stops.
