LAS VEGAS It's the passing of an era today (Thursday) in downtown Las Vegas. Binion's Horseshoe hotel-casino is changing hands -- and officially changing its name to Binion's Gambling Hall and Casino.

Harrah's Entertainment bought the Fremont Street property last year, but sold it to M-T-R Gaming Group of Chester, West Virgina.

M-T-R took over today (Thursday). The company is also the owner of the Speedway casino in North Las Vegas.

Harrah's will be back at Binion's July 14th and 15th to stage this year's finals of the World Series of Poker. Harrah's has rights to the tournament -- which has been synonymous with the downtown property for 35 years.
