The Steve Wynn Show: Wedgies For Cosmo, Fontainebleau and CityCenter
In the latest episode of The Steve Wynn Show, our hero held nothing back during an interview with KVBC-TV reporter Alicia Jacobs. In addition to hyping the opening of Encore Beach Club, The Steve handed out wedgies to the owner/operators of Fontainebleau, Cosmopolitan - calling them "dimwits" - and blaming the softness in hotel room rates on CityCenter.
Ouch!
A little backstory might be required. A few days ago, The Steve was spotted walking south on The Strip from Encore all the way to Bellagio. Some folks say he was "taking notes" of some of the jacked up stuff he saw on the outside of his competitors casinos. Of course, this spurred all sorts of discussion that perhaps Wynn was shopping for a new casino. Before you get your Wynn Buys Bellagio Panties in yet another wad, the official excuse is that The Steve walked down the strip to see how Wynncore Beach Club looked from afar.
...and to gather information for his wedgie rampage.
After two hours digging around the truly horrible KVBC website, I found part the video interview (segment four, starts with the Golden Girls).
If that doesn't work, I suggest checking out Norm!'s retelling of the interview.

Translation: "How dare my competitors open up new hotels after I did and drag down room rates for all of us. Boy are they stupid."
Here's some more. Same day, same suit, same spot, different interviewer:

Make sure you watch clip 3 to the very end. Mr. Wynn demonstrates how he dances at Encore Beach club. Priceless.
Oh, and R.I.P. Rue McClanahan.
In the CNBC interview he touches on the renovation of the Wynn rooms. Its going to take place July through March and will include floor and wall coverings...(more too im guessing) 90 something million worth, half going to the suites and half going to resort rooms.
Tune in next week to the Steve Wynn Show, when he debates the gaming commissioner.
Aces High!
Hey, I wish that Steve would buy the Bellagio, and save it from the de-theming gods at MGM Mirage. Having just returned from Las Vegas, I think that CityCenter is a bust. It's ugly, at street level. There's no city, town, or even neighborhood aspect to this. Crystals=waste of time and air conditioning. Aria and Vdara are the only things of any value. The whole thing is too big and too unneeded.
