TropWatch: Tropicana Unveils 'Chairman Suites'

Are you ready for a little VegasTropping? From the progress they have been making so are we! Earlier today, VT friend Arnold Knightly at the Review Journal profiled the slowly-taking-shape South Beach / Miami theme, and included a boffo photo of the brand new Chairman Suites.

Like manna from heaven, Trop's Queen of the Internets posted a three of photos of their new suites to their Posterous account. Check em:

Rejoice! All you theme seeking haters of the MGM Mirage Moderne style!

Clean, sharp, modern without being ridiculous.

From the second floor. The inset shows how important the contrasting textures and patterns are when working in such a muted earth tone color palette. Sharp.

I'm not sure if these photos are all of one room, or if the Trop is offering different configurations within their suite products. I'm guessing that the first two photos are of the "Paradise Parlor Suite" and the last is a one-off "Chairman Suite." These parlor suites are listed on the TropLV website, but they have yet to be made available via the reservation engine, leaving us guessing what daily price point might be and... how the hell can we get one?

Looking at the pics and knowing what you already know about all the changes that are happening at the Trip what would you pay per night for this suite?

Man, I LOVE! what they are doing with the Trop. I hope they are the main strip resort to break the de-theming trend!

I'm always happy to see positive developments at one of the old "independent" joints. I'll be sure to check out the progress on my next trip.

Looks good so far, but we really need a shot of the bathroom. I am impressed with the size of the already refurbished rooms, but the bathrooms were only freshened. They really need to put in new tubs/showers/sinks/toilets to move the needle with this upgrade. I think they have a shot at matching the Monte Carlo. It would also help tremendously if they added a real high quality restaurant (e.g. hire one of the Top Chefs) and a bar (e.g. a blue martini).

Yeah the new rooms are totally banging. I saw the interior shots of the Trop on VTAT yesterday and it's starting to look good in there. I'm not going to lie, I'm going to miss the dingyness of the place, but times change.

I used to stay here during those trips to vegas back in the college days. We'd were cramming 10 people into one room. "One person go check in...we'll all hide/wait around the corner with the sleeping bags".

I haven't been back to the Trop since then. I think it's bout time I went back to check it out. Those new suites look pretty awesome. I'm anxious to see what kind of prices they'll be putting on those.

To answer the question - the pictures are of 3 different suites in the Paradise Tower - the first is the Chairman Suite, 2nd The Presidential Suite and the 3rd is the Penthouse Loft (aka 2-story loft). As of now, all will be available for sale online only through troplv.com or by phone and should go on-sale starting sometime in the next few weeks!

Thanks VGB... I've got dibs on the Loft.
