The Nevada Gaming Control Board has recommended a gambling license for the Wynn Las Vegas megaresort.

The unanimous decision came after a lengthy presentation to the three-member board by Steve Wynn, chairman and chief executive of Wynn Resorts, which owns the 2.7 billion-dollar property.

Wynn will seek final approval for a gambling license from the Nevada Gaming Commission on March 24th.

The commission's OK is one of the last hurdles Wynn faces in opening the hotel-casino on the Las Vegas Strip. The project has been five years in the making and is scheduled to open April 28th.
