After a valiant battle with stomach cancer, heavy metal icon Ronnie James Dio has died.

Read Wendy Dio's announcement on Blabbermouth.

Read my side-by-side comparison of two iconic men... Ronnie James Dio and Steve Wynn.

Go grab your favorite Black Sabbath, Dio, Rainbow, Heaven & Hell or Rainbow disc and crank it up loud enough so Ronnie can hear it.

Cranking "The Very Beast of Dio" right now. Very sad. RIP, RJD. \m/

Horns up!! \m/ We'll miss you Ronnie and your music.

Dang, the Man on the Silver Mountain! God bless him. Dio was about the last metal act I ever saw live, back around 1990 at the Atlanta Civic Center (unless you count Steve Morse last November but he's more metal/fusion).
Anyway, I think this is one of the best things Dio's done in recent years: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iz3nYch1cbo You have to wait for about two minutes before he appears but it's worth the wait.

Always sad to lose a Metal icon.

He finally took the Holy Dive..........
