Mandarin Oriental Gets Fresh With Pricing

You know we're just butt-crazy, head over heels smitten with CityCenter's Mandarin Oriental. When they first began taking reservations, we just couldn't see how they could stand charging $540 a night, but as details started rolling in, pictures leaked through, and nights were spent, we realized pretty quickly that it was money well spent.

Still, nobody was taking the bait and Mandarin got very aggressive with two-for-one promotions. While I was damn sure they were losing money on my stay of $350 for two nights total with $220 in resort credit, they knew lucky souls like me who took them up on it would return with nothing but glowing reviews.

Things have stabilized now and while there isn't - and frankly, may never be - a deal like that again, Mandarin Oriental is starting to price itself right for the market with $205 weeknight offers that aren't looking to expire any time soon, competitive weekend pricing, and various other specials.

Relatively speaking, one of the strip's best ultra luxury hotels is also becoming the strip's best bang for the buck.
